A Change of Seasons (I)

Posted by
Alfredo J. Martiz J. (Panama City, Panama) on 14 April 2014 in Plant & Nature.

Since the end of 2012 we've been living in Diablo Heights, a place of Panama City located in the Panama Canal Zone, our current home is surrounded by trees and wooden houses, a site completely different than the places we used to live before.

Our view is not the same it used to be, what I mean is that we no longer have the glimpse of buildings and infrastructure growing at the fast pace of business and economical growth.

In a country with a huge biodiversity and where seasons don't happen as in other regions of the world, it is easy to take nature for granted and to forget about observing and enjoying the subtle changes of that happen with the passage of time.

This photo shows you what we see from our living space. The change of environment has made me aware of the diversity of moments of nature through time and how do they enhance the sense of place as they merge with architecture.

At the end of february both trees in this photo had changed the colors of their leaves and the leaves fell to the ground, as if we had a brief "tropical autumn".
