Finally back after a long hiatus. My MacBook Pro spent 1 month and 12 days at technical support in my country because the Logic Board got bad, they replaced it with a new one and now everything seems to be fine, except for some applications that had problems with the license but a call to customer service solved it.
During that time I also found out that a magazine used one of my photos without my permission, I wrote them an e-mail and they replied apologizing for the inconvenient situation, they compared the photos and agreed that it is my photo.
Apparently they downloaded my photo from a royalty free database and a unknown third party was involved in doing some adjustments such as cropping and cloning to remove some elements.
After pointing out the situation to the magazine, they asked me for my authorization to use the photo, giving proper credit to myself as the author.
As many of you have noticed, all my photos have a watermark on the lower right corner, but it seems that this was not enough to avoid other people from using my photos without my permission. For that reason and starting with this photo, I will place an additional watermark on the middle of the photos that I post. I didn't want to do this when I started the photoblog because I wanted you to see the photos without visually disturbing elements, I hope you understand the reasons that triggered this decision.
I thank the people who wrote me in the past asking for my permission to use my photos and credit them when they wanted to use them for a personal blog post, for a school work, a book or magazine, etc.
To those who come here to see my photos, and then download and post them elsewhere without my knowledge, please stop doing that and write me an e-mail through the contact form on this photoblog and I will reply to your request.
