Landmark TowerPosted by Alfredo J. Martiz J. (Panama City, Panama) on 27 May 2008 in Architecture. Standing 295.8 m high, the Landmark Tower is the tallest building in Japan. A five star hotel occupies floors 49-70. The lower 48 floors include shops, restaurants, clinics, and offices as part of the program. The Sky Garden, and observatory from which you can enjoy a 360° view of the city, and on clear days Mount Fuji, is located in the 69th floor. The world's second fastest elevator, which reaches speeds of 12.5 m (41 ft) per second (45.0 km/h, 28.0 mi/h) is located in this tower. This speed allows the elevator to cover about one floor per second, reaching the observatory on the 69th floor in just one minute.
