Dreamcatcher

Posted by Alfredo J. Martiz J. (Panama City, Panama) on 27 March 2008 in Miscellaneous.

It is believed that a dreamcatcher filters a person's dreams and gives its owner good dreams. "Only good dreams would be allowed to filter through . . . Bad dreams would stay in the net, disappearing with the light of day," according to Terri J. Andrews in the article "Legend of the Dream Catcher."
A dreamcatcher is a handmade object based on a hoop that contains a horsehair mesh, or a similar construction of string or yarn, decorated with personal and sacred items as feathers and beads.
This object originated during the pan-indian movements of the 1960's and 1970's in the Ojibwa Nation.
