I like how this photo looks in Black and White but I am posting it in color because I want you to see it as I did. When I made this photo I was starting to feel tired, oh yes, and this is a reminder that we had a long way to go to the top. In this photo you can see many structures, those structures are the different huts where you can stop for a while and rest, or buy water, sweets or food as you are going up. It is possible to stay in some of the huts during the night and have dinner. Every hut has a special sign that they mark in your wood stick if you pay for it. You can buy a wood stick for 1000 ¥ before starting to climb, and the mark of the hut is usually around 200 or 300 ¥. The lowest hut in this photo is called Hana-goya Hut and it is located approximately at 2700 m of altitude.
Fuji-San. August 17th, 2007. -Previously in the Journey to Fuji-san- Around 15:33 - The 212 Squad began their journey to the top of Fuji-san
Around 16:15 - Arrived to Fuji-san Safety Guidance Center. Received a Yellow paper showing the different routes to the top with the names of the different huts, altitude of the different stations, approximate time to reach to those places and a Notice to Climbers in the back of the paper. Had a small rest. Around 16:30 - Continued our journey 16:56 - Time when I made this photo. Thought if I was going to make it to the top someday, started to feel tired.

What a beautiful sight! It must have been a great experience. Thanks for putting it in colors so that we can see what it really looks like. Maybe one day I can visit it too. =)

I would never guess this was Fuji-san. I've heard stories about those rest huts... head-to-toe sleeping arrangements... did you stay?
22 Aug 2007 8:56am
@Daroru: Thank you Daroru, yes I stayed in one of the huts, as you have heard it is heat-to-toe sleeping arrangement, the height of the space I had to get inside was around 1.2 m, when you are deciding if staying or not they ask you if you want dinner, breakfast, according to that the price changes. Interesting experience, never imagined I was going to stay in a place like that! =)
