Ho Chi Minh City Streets (V)

Posted by Alfredo J. Martiz J. (Panama City, Panama) on 26 April 2007 in Cityscape & Urban.

This particular corner caught my attention that day, It reminds me of a place in my country called 'El Casco Viejo', in fact there are some places and buildings in Ho Chi Minh City that share the same style as buildings from 'El Casco Viejo' and 'Bella Vista' in Panama.
Buildings from the places I mentioned in Panama have a Spanish and French architecture influence adapted to Panama's climate. Vietnam’s colonial buildings share the French architecture influence, they were adapted to a very different climate which led to many distinctive features, making the style into a genre in its own right.
