Unknown Hero (II)

Hiroshima, August 21st, 2006.
61 Years have passed since the first Atomic Bomb was used against mankind. We visited the A-Bomb dome and saw this couple of old women doing an amazing job, cleaning the streets and parks that others made dirty. Visiting Hiroshima made me have a nostalgic feeling and some thoughts started to come into my mind, probably this women were kids or teenagers in 1945, maybe they were not from Hiroshima but from other places and their families decided to move in order to collaborate in the reconstruction of Hiroshima. This photo is dedicated to all the victims of this horrible event and to all those who made an effort to bring this city back to life.

Te sere bien honesta, cuando vi la foto la primera vez pense que no estaba tan bien, que me hubiera gustado ver mas los rostros de cerca, pero cuando lei la descripcion, pude ver la foto con otros ojos... y al final me senti trizte. Es una gran foto si ha podido crear un sentimiento.

Strangely enough...I don't know if you noticed it when you took the photo...the rubbish bags are in the shape of a bird pecking away peacefully at the ground...and the white makes me think its a peace dove =D...nice one!

@Wayne: To be honest, I didn't notice that detail until now that I read your comment, you are right about the shape defined by the bag and by its meaning, really curious and strange as you said, thank you very much for paying attention to details and for discovering such a strange shape and by giving a wonderful meaning!

It must have been really sad. And for the people over there, every anniversary must bring back really bad memories and sad feelings. Here is a good example of why humanity must never again use this type of weapons, no matter what. Distrust is what makes people fight with each other and brings misunderstandings and sometimes unjustified hate. Great shot. Nice b&w.
