Posted by Alfredo J. Martiz J. (Panama City, Panama) on 5 February 2007 in People & Portraits.
This photo is from the same day as the photo I presented yesterday. It was shot during the afternoon, the workers were taking a rest and waiting for their "Raspao" because it was a really hot day. "Raspao" (snow cone) is a dessert item usually made of compacted shaved ice flavored with a brightly colored sugary syrup, usually fruit-flavored.

@jotch: Se me olvidó la leche condensada, =)
I don't know what appeals to me more is the seperation between the workers and the gleaming city at the fair end..beyond the water...and the crumbling building in the middle ground and then the workers. I think there's a deeper undercurrent to it =) I really love this one!

@Wayne: Thank you Wayne, I am glad you liked it, you have a nice eye for details!
Me gusta que pudistes atrapar partes de la nueva Panama, la Panama en ruinas y una costumbre tan nuestra de comer raspao. La foto es perfecta. Me gusta que la hayas revelado en cepia, en colores hubiera perdido encanto...
